For centuries, people have placed their trust — and physical and spiritual well-being — in the hands of priests, ministers, rabbis, gurus, revival preachers, and New Age spiritualists. In many cases, this trust was misplaced, resulting in tragic results. “Faith healing” is the practice of curing diseases by nothing more than faith. Medicine, doctors, therapies and other scientifically evaluated and based medical practices play no role in faith healing. A “faith healer” is an individual who allegedly possesses a great gift of healing from God Almighty. One of the most often parroted lines in the healer's spiel is, “I believe, in Jesus Name, be healed!” Whether the healer or the person being healed has the required level faith differs according to the result. Is faith healing something that can produce belief-based miracles? An entertaining cultural activity? Or is it a cult-like activity that is capable of harm? Call into the show to talk about your experiences and to share your opinion. ~~~ Rob Robinsons World Cult Watch airs every Sunday night on the God Discussion network.
